Community Journal Newspaper

Published quarterly, the Community Journal  is a free and bilingual (English and Spanish) newspaper providing coverage of neighborhood people, issues and events of common interest to various ethnic and socioeconomic groups throughout Jackson Heights. Recent issues have included an in-depth feature on the neighborhood’s unique Burmese market, a Q&A column addressing common immigration questions and an article notifying residents of upcoming changes to an area park. Community members write, edit and translate all articles and provide photography and graphic services.

In an effort to be green and to conserve our nonprofit’s financial resources, The Community Journal will be exclusively published online starting in late 2009. Stay tuned for the launch of our newspaper website.
