Congratulations are in order for one Madison City Schools employee. Daniel Whitt, Coordinator of Instructional Technology, won a Chiquita Marbury Technology Innovation Award from the Alabama Department of Education.
Each year, one person is chosen to receive the award from the following categories: elementary, middle, high schools, administration, technology coordinators and central office staff.
It’s namesake, Chiquita Marbury, was an Alabama educator who worked to integrate technology into schools, according to the nomination form.
“Mr. Whitt and his technology instruction team have rapidly propelled Madison City to the forefront of school districts that empower students and teachers through innovative approaches that fuel creativity and use real-world applications,” according to the Madison City Schools blog.
