Second Chance Job Fair Set for Feb. 27

Getting back on your feet after you hit rock bottom can be rough. You’re starting to get your life back together, but that might mean finding a new job — and that can be tough. That’s why the Huntsville Madison County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Second Chance job fair on February 27 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jaycee Community Building.

“This will be a really cool event where we’re encouraging job seekers to come meet with companies — anyone who needs a second chance,” said Claire Aiello, vice president of marketing and communications at the Chamber of Commerce.

The event is for people who “are unemployed, underemployed, have dropped out of high school, who are not achieving their full potential, or are in need of a second career chance,” according to the Chamber of Commerce website.

There are more than 60 employers from various industries signed up to meet with candidates, some of which will be hiring on the spot.

While it’s not necessary to register, there are services available if you need help polishing your resume. Call the Alabama Career Center at 256-851-0537 for resume help. You can also call Christmas Charities Year Round  at 256-837-2373 if you need interview clothing.
