Even if you can’t visit the ones you love right now, you can send them a gift to show how much you care. Two Huntsville groups are teaming up to offer a buy-one-send-one deal to show someone you care, even if you can’t be there.
As part of their Hearts Apart campaign, Operation CommuniTees and Apparel Lab are making t-shirts that say “Space can’t keep our hearts apart.”
“The Hearts Apart initiative originally began as a way to bring some hope and love to those who may be in a nursing home and unable to have visitors right now,” said Matt McLellan, owner of Apparel Lab. “I asked the question, ‘Why not broaden this and bring it to our community?’ Lots of people have not been able to see their friends or loved ones, and this will kind of bridge that gap and … remind them that hey, we’re still here.”
Every time you buy a Hearts Apart t-shirt, you will get a second, free shirt to send to someone you love. If you can’t think of anyone, the organizers will pick someone at a local nursing home and send it to them.
You don’t even have to worry about shipping. Apparel Lab will send the shirt for you, even including a personalized note if you choose.
The philanthropy doesn’t stop there, though. Apparel Lab will be supporting United Way of Madison County as they help others during the pandemic.
“Our goal for the Hearts Apart initiative is to really bring hope and love and encouragement to everyone in this time where we have to be socially distant,” said Jamie Russell with Operation CommuniTees. “We just wanted to spread all the love.”
