Girl Scouts Leave Surprises for Firefighters

When the volunteer firefighters at the Hazel Green Fire Department opened their door, the last thing they expected to find was a box of Girl Scout cookies waiting for them.

Troop 11283 left at least seven boxes of cookies for the firefighters.

“Had a little surprise waiting on us at the door today,” one Facebook post read. “Hazel Green Fire would like to give a huge thank you to troop 11283 for all the cookies left at our station.”

The surprise also came with a handwritten note thanking them for their service.

Although they’re a volunteer department, the Hazel Green firefighters still stay busy. Earlier in June, they responded to a call where several kittens were stuck in a storm drain. They rescued the kittens and found them all homes, safely away from any more storm drains.

Thank you to the Hazel Green Volunteer Fire Department and all the other fire fighters in our area!
