How to Encourage Students This Year

Bless their hearts. There’s nothing else to say for the parents, students and teachers who are navigating this school year. But in an attempt to encourage students as they head back to learning, one group is collecting school supplies for students in need. 

A group of teachers are working with Madison City Schools to collect supplies for roughly 70 students. That part is taken care of. Here’s where they need your help. The group needs people to write encouraging letters to pack with the supplies. 

“I am looking for a generic letter wishing a Madison City student a great school year, maybe a Bible verse or prayer over the student for this year, etc.,” said Susan Maynard, one of the teachers collecting supplies. “People can address it ‘Dear Student” or some other simple greeting. Letter writing participants can sign their first name, but no last names or other identifying information please. Handwritten would be preferred, but I will take anything. These can be … emailed to me.”

If you want to participate, you email letters to [email protected] by August 3.  If you want to hand write a letter, you can send or deliver them to:
