This year has been a dumpster fire. There’s no way around that. However, in just a few weeks we will turn the page into 2021, and we’ll have a whole new chance to get it right.
Where will you be starting the new year? If you want a professional opinion, the answer should be Huntsville. According to Livability, Huntsville is the 100th best place to live in the United States.
“Known as the ‘Rocket City,’ Huntsville is home to the famous rocket at the US Space and Rocket Center and has a thriving aerospace industry,” according to the list.
Livability also credits the University of Alabama in Huntsville and Alabama A&M with increasing the quality of life.
“Huntsville is a dynamic destination for artisans, makers and entrepreneurs. People from around the country settle in Huntsville because it provides the perfect intersection of high-tech opportunities and creative experiences,” Autumn Nelson, Communications Coordinator for Downtown Huntsville, told Livability.
The no. 1 pick was Fort Collins, Colorado, followed by a handful of southern towns such as Durham, North Carolina; Orlando, Florida; Athens, Georgia; Charleston, South Carolina and Franklin, Tennessee.
Auburn ranked number 82 on the list for its charm.
“Auburn isn’t just one of the best college towns in the South, it’s also an amazing place to live,” the list reads.
Huntsville is still no. 1 in our hearts, even if we didn’t make the top pick on this list.
